EMIT NEWS Miss Janet Faucette Rev. C. W. Driver, pastor of Corinth Baptist Church brought the Sunday evening message at Watkins Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Ellis Taff is in Georgia in revival meetings. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Driver and boys attended the Finch Reunion at the Middlesex Park Sunday. Cynthia West of Raleigh was honored on her first birthday with a party given by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard West, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lewis. Guests were Barbara, Willard, Millard and Ray Lewis of Windsor, and Judy Lewis, Gary and Roger Johnson, Tim and Norman Driver. Arthur Hinton is a patient at Wake Memorial Hospital after an auto accident last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Carmel Wall of Zebulon were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Wall Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wall and girls of Raleigh called in the afternoon. Judy Lewis was the Thursday night guest of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Perry and children of Middlesex. Mr. and Mrs. Therous Johnson attended the funeral of Mrs. Ida Cuddington at Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Scarboro of Sanford called on Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Wilder Sunday. Mrs. Corinna Manning and Ru dolph Manning of Smithfleld call ed on Mr. and Mrs. Worth Creech Sunday afternoon. Powell Creech was honored at a birthday dinner Sunday at his home. Among those attending were children and grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hocutt of Zebulon called on Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Wilder Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Faucette and John Faucette of Hales Cha pel called on Mr. and Mrs. Frank Faucette Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Driver and Mike spent the weekend at White ! Lake. While there they had the opportunity of hearing Rev. Tom Freeman of Dunn teach the Sun day School lesson. Rev. Freeman was a former pastor of Watkins Chapel Church. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Glover were recent guests of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Glover, and baby in Selma. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Johnson of Raleigh called on Mr. and Mrs. Frank Faucette and Mrs. Mattie Driver Sunday evening. Four Arrested For Public Drunkenness Four persons were arrested Sat urday for public drunkenness, po lice officers said this week. Charged with public drunken ness were James Edward Brannan of Route 3, Zebulon, Thurman Daniel of Route 1, Zebulon, and Martin Spivey and Henry Simon, both of Route 4, Zebulon. Patsy Hales Has Sixteenth Birthday Approximately 60 guests con gratulated Miss Patsy Hales on her sixteenth birthday when she was complimented Wednesday night, August 7, by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hales, at a semi formal supper dance. The festivities were held at the restaurant of her uncle, J. W. Strickland, located near the city limits of Raleigh. An orchid and white color scheme was used for a decorative effect. The honoree was presented an orchid corsage upon arrival by her parents. The refreshment table was cov ered with a white imported linen cloth caught up at the corners with a miniature orchid-colored bou quets. It was centered with a low arrangement of orchid-colored mums and gladioli interspersed with greenery and flanked by burning tapers in crystal holders. A tiered birthday cake stood at one end of the table. Refresh ments were punch, individual cakes, ribbon sandwiches, potato chips, pickles and Cokes. Dancing finished the evening. (Roy) Nowell Kemp Angus Breeders By Registered Cattle Frank O. Kemp of Zebuion re cently purchased six registered Angus cows, and Charles Kemp of Route 1, Zebuion, bought eight registered Angus cows from J. H. Cochrane of Rockville, Va. Charles and Frank, brothers, also acquired an Aberdeen-Angus bull from Kelton Farm, Round Hill, Va. Policeman Catches ' Nash County Thief Raymond Jones, 19, was appre hended Friday by Night Police man Windel Perry. He was ar rested at his home on Arendell Avenue. Policeman Perry said Jones was wanted by Nash County police of ficials for breaking and entering Watson-Massey store on August 7. Nash Deputy P. K. Reams took Jones into custody following a call from the Zebuion police de partment. Released in Custody Of Franklin Officers Roscoe Chalk and Stephen Pen ny, both about 40, were released to Franklin County deputies Tues day afternoon following appre hension by Deputies Ed Watkins and S. J. Blackley during the weekend. Chalk and Penny were charged with stealing a radio on August 11 from the home of Ruffin Baker, who lived only a short distance from the Franklin County line. The radio was valued at about $25. The two were taken by deputies to Louisburg where they will stand trial at a future date.
